Dear farmers and local foods supporters,
The Sustainable Business Center would like to invite you to light supper and a discussion on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. We will be examining the possibility of creating a local foods hub in Galesburg, IL through a partnership with the Edible Economy Project based in Bloomington IL. Terra Brockman of the Edible Economy Project will be attending to explain the project and its impact on the local farm community and to answer any of your questions. We would greatly appreciate your input and opinion on creating a local food hub in Galesburg.
The goal of this project would be to create a market place for farmers in our area to distribute their products. As a result we hope to increase production of locally produced food in our area. We hope to make a positive impact on local farmers through the food hub, but we first need to know how local growers and community members feel about this new food distribution concept.
If you are interested in learning more about the Edible Food Economy Project and the possibility of having a local foods hub in west central Illinois, we encourage you to RSVP to this event by Thursday April 26th. Please RSVP via email or phone at lorelei@sustainablebusinesscenter.com or 309-343-1191. A light supper featuring locally produced foods will be provided; please include dietary needs or restrictions, if any, in your RSVP.
We hope you can join us. We thank you for your time and hope to see you on April 29th.
